Title: Center for Inquiry's Bill Tracker
Post by: Agramon on September 04, 2013, 05:26:28 PM
The Center for Inquiry recently developed a bill tracker that allows you to see all the bills currently in the House and Senate that CFI has flagged as important. It's pretty nifty, check it out:

"A resolution calling for the protections of religious minority rights and freedoms in the Arab world"  That'll sure show them.

"A resolution expressing support for prayer at school board meetings"  Nothing regarding religion in that one.

"Abortion Provider Prohibition Act"  Misnamed - that's the Eliminate Planned Parenthood act.

"Abortion Non-Discrimination Act of 2013"  The Eliminate All Abortions act of 2013.

"Pregnant Women Health and Safety Act"  The Eliminate Abortion Clinics act.

"Hyde Amendment Codification Act"  The Eliminate Abortion Coverage by Insurance Companies act.

Lots of good bills in there ... if anyone needs tinder for a fire.

It's nice to be able to see all the bullshit bills people try to run through Congress as well as the sponsors of said bills!

I like the way they name bills to sound the opposite of what they actually are.

That's one of the ways demagoguery works - tell the people something that they'll be for, regardless of what you actually want to do.  Cleon did it more than 400 years before the Christian era.  It worked then and it still works now.
