I freely admit that I am a gluten and really should have developed some sophistication in my tastes decades ago. But I didn't. Throughout the 60's, 70s, 80s and 90s I actually enjoyed most of the food served to me on airplanes.

Though I have never forgiven the pretzel lobby for getting themselves served in place of peanuts. Damn them all to hell, even I won't eat those things. I would except Ritz crackers as an alternative to nuts. I'm sick and tired of this country bending over backwards for everybody with an allergy.

Maybe I could start a new movement, something like PETA only for peanuts and peanut butter. Our motto could be "oh shut up and just choke to death quietly".

It seems like it was going down hill in the 90s.  But I remember some excellent meals during the 70s.  I bought a roast beef sandwich on a Delta Flight about a year ago.  It was a joke.

I guess I'm not made to enjoy being squashed into seats designed for elementary school children either.  I hate flying.  It's a horrible experience.

Tell me about it - I usually end up with half of some fat fucker's ass cheek on my seat for the duration of the flight....  :x

Funny story: My wife and I were going to the Netherlands to our sons wedding and my wife booked the flight and marked the food preference that looked to be good and healthy. On the flight when our meal was being carried down the isle the person announced out loud that she had a special meal for us. Everyone on the flight were looking at us wondering what all the fuss was about. My wife had ordered a special Jewish meal thinking it was a healthy meal. It actually was the best meal we have had on a flight.    Solitary

When we told the flight attendant we didn't know it was Kosher she couldn't stop laughing.  Everyone that heard it couldn't either. We all had a good laugh. I don't think a lot people liked it when we said how good the meal was though. Solitary
