Title: New Trump Political Party
Post by: Cassia on January 28, 2021, 06:06:53 PM
If he does in fact create a new party that participates in elections it could reduce the Republican Party voting block considerably. It may also become a white nationalist rally cry. His campaign has claimed no association with the newly formed MAGA Patriot party.

We can only hope it will be a crushing blow to the throat to him and his whackos.

Wouldn't that kinda be redundant?  He already has a political party almost entirely beholden to him.  A takeover with only token resistance, too.

Depends on how many people wake up in the next two years. Some highly publicized trials would help.

If I got the piece correct, basically they've created an offiical platform ready to be claimed by the obvious. The way of expression the man in the video used [paraphrasing] 'some republicans felt they were left behind and wanted to be heard, do something' sounds like a call to the republicans who still after a recount against Biden, and naturally the politics related to it. Not some group of republicans trying to open a new path.

I would be good with more political parties and a voting system where you rank your choices. This binary system we have now is stupid.

Third parties are for expression of individual discontent.  Trump realized this,  and he ran as a Republican. He might do better than Ross Perot by splintering off at this point, but it's hard to believe he could win as an independent. And as a Republican he got more votes than any Republican before him, and he accomplished more than any of them too. But oddly, his presence in politics helps the Democratic Party more than the Republican Party.  He did more to bolster support for Biden than Biden. He's good for Republican ideals, but not good for Republicans.  He's a danger to Democratic ideals, but good for Democrats.

I agree, if he ran again as a repub, his base would be more rabid, more prone to mis-information, indeed, probably wanting it, but there would be fewer....we hope, leading to a bigger defeat, only this time under a “new” surveillance, and of course, a greater effort to restrict voters of different flavors than vanilla.
