Loved the older 1975 movie, but back then I was young.  I am of a Romantic temperament.  Love triangle, one of the great memes.  Story by Alexandre Dumas.  His father's story is better ;-)  General Thomas-Alexandre Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie, highest ranking mullato (mother was Black, father was White) to command a European army.  He was very talented, and destroyed by Napoleon because of his talent.  Now that would be a great story!
