On Tuesday, December 8, Pornhub banned all unverified users from uploading or downloading, and said it would expand its moderation. However, by the end of the week, MasterCard and Visa declared they would both stop processing payments on the site. Visa specifically dropped all of the MindGeek network, including Redtube, Youporn, Xtube, and Brazzers.
Pornhub’s decision is not a guaranteed method for preventing abuse of all kinds, including revenge porn, on the site, though it could significantly reduce it. Some amateur porn creators who use the site as a source of income disagree with the credit-card companies’ decision and worry about the industry should they begin to target smaller platforms. I mean, the idea of taking it out of that place and all the work it entails (during which i imagine a tad too much contemplation of your life choices would settle in), goes directly against the mainstream purpose of masturbation.
When people masturbate, they almost always would indeed prefer to have real sex. But, and maybe I'm only speaking for myself here, masturbation is never going to fullfill that emotional need nor the actual feeling and sense of accomplishment that goes into sex. Masturbation is the fast-food equivalent; getting it done and over with relatively quick because you have an "urgent" need and can't wait to cook first or because you don't have anyone to take to a fancy restaurant.
Honestly, It'd be like renting a tuxedo. Preparing some conversation starters. Getting ready for the most important date of your life. And then revealing that you ordered McDonalds at home. Set a mighty fancy table. Spend the evening talking to yourself. And then post pictures of your excquisite time on facebook and giving the McDonalds a yelp review.
That's not what fastfood is for. It just isn't.

The porn industry has been a driving force for just about all types of industry. From the time of books, this has been true--and probably from times before that, as well. I remember hearing of 8 mm movies of porn when I was a child--never saw one, but wanted to. Anyway, each new form of communication was partly taken over and driven by porn. Androids will be no different. In some respects, the porn driven androids will be made to be more 'human' like because they will sell better. As always, the porn industry will thrive and it will always continue to do so.
Well, we'll be too old or gone by that point I imagine. Even if not, we highly likely won't be living in that world in that time.
Relationships...sex, love...etc. I don't know how to express this. My parents have been together since 1966. They got married in 1971. They have been together for 54 years. Their relationship is more than a decade longer than my entire life. Half a century plus four. Two quarters of a century plus four years.
Doesn't matter how I put it, it is virtually incomprehensible for me in reality. I don't mean anything romantic, soul mate...etc. They would laugh with their ass to those things. I've doubt if they ever celebrated an anniversary of even a birthday. I know they haven't. (I'm the same.) But nobody can say something negative about one in presence of the other. Doesn't matter how stupid or silly the subject is, they have an odd, but very strong way of supporting each other. You can't catch that if you don't pay attention and put your mind, it took me decades ffs. When that happens, I swear, it's like the whole world is cast aside and they're in an other dimension just by themselves, speaking a different language.
I get one thing from all that. They're not from this time of the world. So, that's what I mean. There could be a time, or a period in this world when human to human relationships are something of the past. It could then go back to the traditional ways... Then again...
You're parents are unique, Shoe. But not. Each enduring relationship is somewhat unique to the particular couple you are referring to. I don't see sex androids changing that. Oh, their use will grow and at some point become common, if not accepted. But human/human relationships will continue.
What I'd love to see and be a part of (never even come close to my lifetime) a society that kills porn. But it kills it because all forms of consensual sex will be seen as normal. The human naked body will be simply accepted as what we look like and no big deal. (But then porn would evolve into illegal stuff--like inflicting pain, using force and torture--I understand there are things like 'snuff' films that some get into--parts of society will always be grotesque I guess)
Eventually every individual will show to the world, and to themselves, what a total loser they are ;-(

If we can erase human memories and in addition to that develop a technology that can download an individual's conscienceness into another copy of their body, in other worlds make death obsolete for everyone, maybe then. Even then you can't stop the illegal action but at least the consequences, effects on a potential victim. But then again, like you said there would be another black market where people pay high amount of some valuable currency to kill people in REAL. (Do you know the series called Altered Carbon? Something like that.)

I think it's more likely that porn will evolve with the development of VR. As soon as VR existed, there was already porn for it. They'll create games and accessories to compliment it, and it'll get more realistic. Sex dolls will still exist, of course, but I don't think the stigma surrounding the ownership of one will ever go away. And unless I win the lottery or something, I don't see myself spending money comparable to a used car on one.
