I also avoid "ordinary" people - the trouble is they're all ordinary, at least the ones I've encountered. Any interaction with people in meat space is uncomfortable for me, but I learned long ago that some interaction is unavoidable, so I get through it as if I was totes comfy with it, because otherwise I'd draw attention to myself, which I loathe doing. I keep the lowest possible profile, and dislike attention.

I feel you man. Early to late teens I was an anti-social, fat nerd with lackluster hygiene and a superiority complex. And not having friends and being made fun of, in my little mind, couldn't possibly be my fault.
It wasn't until I accepted that I was as shallow and uninteresting as I held others to be, that I became happier. I had to accept I was miserable and far from perfect, before I could start working on me and actually grow into a better version of me and be content.
I still want to punch 15-year-old me in the face, if I could. Shit's gonna haunt me forever. But as bad as it was, it's good to remind how much we've grown since then.
