I don't follow Susan Collins around watching her, but from what I've seen she always holds out as undecided until two days before the vote when she falls in line with the party. I wouldn't count on her unless I were a Republican.

When the Senate and the Presidency are controlled by opposite parties, appointments in the last year always pass. It doesn't matter which order the parties are. RD or DR, doesn't matter.
So when Obama nominated Merrick Garland in 2016, I just imagined that the Republicans refused to hold a vote until after the election, and it was actually approved?
