Yeah, we export our worst traits.
Min, what took you so long to make this thread?
I've been really busy IRL.
Catching up. Next up we'll need a Pervert Priest thread.
;-)
What, there's not one of those already!? We'll definitely have to remedy that situation!
Don't worry, Min is never minimal.
I've been accused of being a minimalist myself. I can't dispute the accusation.
Ignoramus liberals. The last gun my dad bought, was from Brazil. Those crippled old Nazis need the work.
It isn't the old nazis that worry me. It's the young ones.

Abortion does not determine bad or good. It determines who is or is not convenient.
I'm fine with that being the mother's choice. After all, if even its mother doesn't want it the deck is stacked against it.

QuoteOne person was killed and another injured in separate hunting accidents in south-central Iowa Sunday.
QuoteThe other accident happened around 8:40 a.m. in rural Madison County. According to the DNR, 39-year-old Ronald Butler of Macksburg was shot when he dropped his gun while getting out of a vehicle. Butler, who was hunting with two other people, was eventually flown to a Des Moines hospital.
There’s no word on his current condition.
I'll tell you his condition. He's a moron. A moron running around with a loaded gun and butter fingers.

Not minimalist, but upside down, effect before cause. And my comment had nothing to do with actual abortions.
On your topic ... sorry to divert. Yes, guns and liquor are a bad combination. But we should encourage this behavior in Congress. Hopefully Cheney can show them how to do it.

A lot of states don't allow loaded firearms in motor vehicles. He's probably facing a charge on that.
Perhaps now we won't have to put up with that ridiculous "why shouldn't we ban cars too" shit from the gun nuts.

QuoteGuns killed more people than car crashes in 2017
Quotehe rate of gun deaths in the US increased yet again in 2017, driven mostly by a rise in the number of suicides with a firearm.
The new data, released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shows that the gun death rate hit 12.2 per 100,000 people in 2017, up from 12 in 2016 and 10.3 in 1999 (the earliest year of data available). The gun suicide rate increased to 7.3 in 2017, from 7.1 in 2016, while the gun homicide rate remained flat at 4.5.
The total gun death rate surpassed the car crash death rate of 11.9 per 100,000 people, as the rate of car crash deaths has steadily decreased while the gun death rate has increased over the years.
Hey, you can use a gun to take kids to school, to pick up the dry cleaning, drive to grandma's house, or cover a bit of lawn you don't want to mow any more. Take that, gun haters!
Guns are no problem. Criminal politicians are a problem. I would be happy to see the Elite eliminated via guillotine. Right, Left or in-between.
Guns are a problem because over here all the dumbasses want to walk around with them.

Clearly the end result of liberal judicial activism or tyrannical liberal legislatures. Gun owners are sane, lawabiding people (remember that time Clint Eastwood debated a chair?) who should not be subject to these irresponsible and burdensome liberal laws.

Laws aren't a problem. Obeying them is a problem. A free person is an anarchist. Liberals/Conservatives buy into the dominant slave culture.

But now we can stick the numbers up their asses.... if there is room considering that is where they keep their heads.
Yeah, probably kind of claustrophobic up in there! LOL

If the deer were as numerous as rats and ate everything in your yard, and got hit by your car every couple years wrecking your spine from the hit and making your neck make grinding sounds, you might not feel so kindly towards them.
I would like to kill them all within 100 miles of here. Poison sounds good. Bullets and crossbows seem better. And shooting the does is the only effective reduction of the population.
Yeah, wolves. You want wolves in your neighborhood? Didn't we spend 30,000 years getting rid of predators?
If we still had wolves there wouldn't be so many deer.

And fewer children. And maybe fewer adults. Though I wouldn't miss some... My point is that there are only a few ways to reduce the local surplus deer population and I don't like the poison or wolf options. But no one wants anyone killing those poor deer with a gun or crossbow either.
Maybe they just want to spay all the does...
I say shoot them until they are scared as hell about us again...

You know, the anti-wolf people out west are making shelters for their children hide in while waiting for the school bus in the morning. They're afraid of wolves. The kids are allowed to play outside after school without any need for shelters.
You know, just bullshit.
When the last wolf was killed in Yellowstone, back in the Twenties, the park started to decline. No aspen tree grew to maturity for the next seventy years. Too many deer. When the wolves were brought back the whole park started to recover from man's stupidity.
Humanity always fucks things up and then fucks them up worse trying to fix them. I suspect the problem is us.

In the wilds, the balance between wolves and deer or elk are good. Too many deer, too few saplings. Too few deer, wolves seek food elsewhere.
It is where the intersection on wolves and humans meet that the problem occurs. I would kill the last wolf to protect a human. All our ancestors killed off the local predators as best they could. My namesake Ursus spelaeus went that way, and I do not regret it.
As far as the local excess deer population is concerned, they overly-exist because hunting them is too restricted. I would be happy to find a place I could legally kill them with my crossbow. And a few of them, wounded with an arrow sticking out their flanks would have an informative effect on the herd.

If you mean by "it's the people who are fucked", I agree completely. Earth would do just fine without us. and most species would do better. I won't mourn the cockroaches who need our warm damp garbage dumps of apartments though. If we disappeared, most cockroaches would too. They would freeze.
Whales would be thrilled, fish would abound, beavers would return the plains to varied wetlands supporting all sorts of animal populations, birds would increase, etc.
Might even have saber tooth cats taking down those damned deer too...

I rarely try these days. Not the most frustrating forum on the web, but dead second. The worst is a forum that uses homebrew software and hasn't improved on the interface since Desert Storm insofar as I can tell.
