No matter what your sexual orientation, access to sexual partners has never been easier, so the decline isn't due to lack of availability. One factor the video didn't mention is that as the Baby Boomers age they are probably reporting having sex less frequently.

I'm sure they believe they are the ones controlling the phones, just as alcoholics often believe they drink by choice.
A few years ago, my sister in Chicago, took me to the new downtown Apple store in an architecturally stunning modern building opening to the river walk along the Chicago River. The place was big, making a statement about the world of Apple. While apple makes all kinds of things, 90% of the items on display were hundreds of iPhones covering the walls. Laptops and iPods were given enough space indicating their "token" status in the market, just enough to imply that Apple was more than phones, if just a little bit.
There were maybe 50 people in the store, which was all one big room with modern seating and tables for people to congregate. It reminded me of a library that could have come out of the movie, A Clockwork Orange. People were coming together spending hours fiddling with their phones, but not talking to anyone. It was a place where everyone could come together, in order to be apart. It was surreal, and I wouldn't go so far as to say these people were suffering some mental disorder, but I couldn't help but feel that something was fundamentally wrong in what I was looking at. No one was engaging others, which is the first step toward having sex. How do these people actually get it going?

It's pretty widely spread, they are a sub class of the society almost in every country now. I have spent a lot of time reading multiple versions in Turkish and English, talked several of these young men and a few women. These people are stupid. I am not saying this word as a casual insult. It is a new form of addiction to begin with. It's all about being belonged to a group, feeling a fake sense of self realisation, celebrate victimhoods and not to mention making certain type of sharlatans rich.
