Title: Facebook & It's Enabling of Hate Speech

Long story short, facebook (and other social media companies) have allowed extremely racist and hateful speech to be repeated and shared so much without consequence that it is not just becoming socially acceptable (for example, the Buddhist monk reasons for hating Muslims sounds like something you would hear even here) but it is destabilizing society across the world to varying degrees... in the West it causes growing political divides between the two sides, in the East and Africa it enables ethnic cleansing.

Freedom of speech. Freedom of thought and belief. Just because a person whom believes in shitty beliefs and acts like an asshole doesn't mean you have the right to trample them (no matter how much you want to), because if we lft you to take them it just b discrimination and bullying and it could lad to a 1984 world.

I guess Shiranu will be moving to China, to work in their new "social credit" system.  He has a choice, either become a monk or a commissar.

The CIA enables Google, Facebook and Wikipedia.  They know exactly what they are doing.  Do you?  Do you think that the President would Twitter if the CIA didn't allow it?  Half of Internet traffic is spam, the other half is porn.

So let me ask you, do you have a Facebook account?  Do you paste there?  The "groups" there are the most PC I have encountered.  Facebook has over 2 billion monthly users.  I have an account, but I rarely post there.

I have a problem with human behavior same as you.  The proliferation of personal computer technology has had unforeseen consequences, but also foreseen ones.  Computers were originally developed by the governments, for their purposes.  And still are.

As far as suppressing political activity, sure, I don't support violence or incitement to violence.  Including when it happens on this website. But short of violence, there is plenty of wrong-thought here, that would be suppressed by a commissar so inclined.

Freedom of speech.
Does not apply. Freedom of speech protects the people from having their speech restricted by the government. Facebook ain't the government and can do whatever they want in terms of restricting speech.

Zuckerberg would oppose or defend hate speech depending on how much money he could make, and from a moral standpoint, he would be very near the bottom of the list of those I would trust to provide the ethical guidelines involved.

In fascism there is no government, just corporations using the government as a sock puppet.  The Bill of Rights is toast.

Oh please! You should know the internet  and social sits like Facebook should remain neutral. They have family and friends on their that are left and right. Some are in closed groups for privacy, others are open but they all follow rules.

Really?   I thought the recent evidence from the USA clearly indicates that very few people know what they're doing.

Bad as Facebook is, the biggest offender is undeniably Reddit and its continued permissive attitude regarding r/The_Donald. Out of all the dozens of hate subs they've banned over the last two years, The_Donald has somehow been overlooked in every single ban wave despite having the worst content out of any of them. In fact I'm pretty sure people are just migrating there every time another hate sub gets banned.

You don't think Reddit is CIA?  Anyplace that allowed the President, or our Islamic Terrorist freelance employees ... is definitely like Air America circa 1968.

When your program is being used to mobilize ethnic genocide, I think the "neutrality" line is a crock of shit.

Writing was used to mobilize ethic genocide.  And before that speech was used to mobilize ethnic genocide.  Therefore we must ban writing and speech.

Hijiri - your opinion is toxic, being a male.  You foul just by existing.

It is racist and misogynist to point out the bogostity of liberal rhetoric.  And very White and male too.

I find that Democrats hate anyone who isn't.  And DNC hates any Democrat who isn't  And the Clintons hate any DNC who isn't.  It is hate speech all the way down.  I love it ... a portion of humanity who I can't support, keeps undermining themselves, by imitating the little girl possessed by Satan.

There is nothing wrong with genocide ... or are you going back to England, after giving everything to Native Americans?

Reality in the present doesn't forgive wrongs in the past.   "The Past" sure is convenient though.

If I killed your parents in the distant past, would you forgive me?  Didn't think so.

I wouldn't be around to know.  Heck, if you disturbed them that Christmas eve (I can count), I wouldn't be here as I am.  Maybe I'd be month younger and be even more annoying.

You aren't annoying.  Don't flatter yourself.

On the prior point ...

America in our lifetime genocided Vietnamese and Iraqis.  As Americans we were responsible for that (in the latter case we were both taxpayers and government employees).  If must be OK if America did it, and OK with us since we participated in it.

I don't flatter myself very often.  But hey, if YOU don't find me annoying, I'm free of the possible concern.
