Catholic puritans?
No, Marxist feminist against cheerleaders.

If they invoke to ban porn I would be even more offended
Interesting that this story is coming out now, while multiple teams cheerleaders from across several leagues just started speaking out about sexual harassment within the industry and how it isn't treated seriously internally.
Also interesting how I cant find any news sources (not even sources like Brietbart or FOX are reporting this) to confirm that literally anyone important takes this seriously.
It's almost like there is a serious issue that certain parties want to bury under tabloid bullshit rather than address, so they create a controversy that no one actually supports to change the topic...
Nah. That could never happen...
Edit: Ah. I see the title of the thread and video don't actually match the content of the video. That explains why I cant find any sources.
So one person's opinion piece = the end of civilization as you know it is imminent.
Bloody snowflakes, triggered so easily nowadays. I think yall need to take some time off the internet.
I love cheer leaders. They're are so pretty and buxom, and so damn proud of it.
football is dumb anyway. Starcraft... now THAT is a sport.

Actually they need to ban the athletes from sports, and keep the cheerleaders (male and female, your choice)!
There are some safety concerns when it comes to cheerleading, and I'm not just talking about sexual harassment. Broken bones and other injuries abound when you don't have any safety padding.
I'm not watching the video, though, because PR posted it and I'm not really in the mood for another rant about feminists under the bed.

I'm okay with this, at least with NFL.

So we should just go around wrapped in bubble wrap?

I am triggered, if the bubble wrap is transparent, and there is a nearly naked girl inside ;-)

Don't they use gym mats or something similar? At least, I hope so.
When I saw the video was Paul Joseph Watson I stopped watching. Paul Joseph Watson's style is so annoying I can't stomach it, same with Dusty "Cult of Dusty" Smith, Tomi Lahren, Nicole Arbor, Matthew Santoro and several others. Nothing they can say is worth sitting through their shtick.
I would be surprised if injuries resulting from cheerleading are anything close to the problem of chronic traumatic encephalopathy and other football-related injuries.

Use to like dusty until he went a bit of the rails. Nicole Arbor is complete trash, Matthew Santoro is just goofy and weird but still watch him time to time.

From 1982 to 2009, cheer-leading accounted for 65.0% of all direct catastrophic injuries to girl athletes at the high school level and 70.8% at the college level. (http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/pediatrics/early/2012/10/15/peds.2012-2480.full.pdf#page=4&zoom=auto,0,455) [page 3/968]
Direct by sport: For high school sports, football had the highest number of direct catastrophic events, followed by female cheerleading, baseball, wrestling, and male track and field (Table 4a).
Accounting for the number of participants in the sport, cheerleading, male gymnastics, football, and ice hockey had the highest rates per 100,000 participants (Figure 2, Table 9a). Similar
results were observed when restricted to fatal events (Figure 1).
For college sports, football had the highest number of direct catastrophic events, followed by female cheerleading, baseball, and male track and field (Table 5a). Accounting for the number
of participants in the sport, male gymnastics, female skiing, football, ice hockey, equestrian and male gymnastics had the highest rates per 100,000 participants (Figure 4, Table 9b). Similar results were observed when restricted to fatal events (Figure 3). (https://nccsir.unc.edu/files/2013/10/NCCSIR-34th-Annual-All-Sport-Report-1982_2016_FINAL.pdf) [page11/6]
Note that, especially in the second source, the method of collecting data is weak ["publicly available media reports"], and almost certainly exclude CTE and other later developing conditions.

Can I ask you a question
@pr126 ? you live in the UK, right? why are you so OBSESSED with what goes on in the US? and also, what makes you think you have the proper knowledge of what is going on and the reasoning for it on this side of the Atlantic?

Not like we haven't had people on these threads discuss laws and news from the UK or other countries, that's the same as me saying you guys from the US can't have an opinion on the migrant crisis over here, but seen plenty having an opinion of it

Nowhere in that post did I say you are not allowed an opinion, I simply asked a question.

I share sympathy, not knowledge, regarding the Brits. I don't have an ideological axe to grind like some do ...
On other forums, I have had sympathy for Muslims living in the UK ... but they won't listen to anyone except their imam from SA.
The only game that really requires cheerleaders is the game Blood Bowl.
Because they give you a chance at an extra team re-roll.
I read a newspaper article today about how cheerleaders must stay anonymous, can't be in the same club with a player, etc. And even must leave at once if a player enters. Weird.
The whole situation is a bit sick. The team owners are selling the cheerleaders as sexy, but limiting their professional skill resumes as very talented dancers.

Most dancers don't have to make human pyramids (well in HS cheerleading anyway). Are you anti-sex? Must be Muslim.

How about when that half naked woman walks around the ring carrying that big card with the number of the next round in a prize fight? There's something deliciously perverse about the combination of sex and violence as she struts around on a mat full of blood splatters, sweat, and flem globs in her high heels. The experience is heightened by how unnecessary her function is, as it's not that difficult for the average moron to remember the number of the round, and the fact that she is half naked performing a useless task suggests you should be looking at her body, not the announcement about what everyone already knows.
She says, "You could just give me a microphone and I could announce the round number from the press box," but no, she has to walk around naked keeping her mouth shut while holding a pointless card over her head. It's like a sex break between rounds. And it makes cheer leading seem family wholesome.

I don't disagree in the least...
I think they should be allowed to do private cheers,,,in a room with no windows and then streamed for a fee to the few of u.....uh..people who would find that kind of perversity exciting.

Personal assistants are already doing this in audio. When they go video (and you know you want constant video on you) we will have full "1984" and "Fahrenheit 451". Just add "Brave New World" to taste.
In college, the most commonly shown porn was limited to titties, which was a big jump from cleavage years before. I predicted that it would keep on advancing little by little. We now expect to see assholes. I have no more predictions, I can't imagine where we go from here.

While I think the cheerleaders argument that they equally represent the team is pretty weak, as they are just decorations, I think they have some rights about where they go and how they advertise their dancing skills professionally. The NFL limitations are sexist. Shouldn't it be equal that if one of the cheerleaders are at some party or bar, the male football players shouldn't be allowed in?

Well, I had it more in mind that the cheerleaders should be able to attend parties unrelated to NFL events without leaving if SOME team player showed up and that they be able to advertise their dancing credentials.
But I don't accept their idea that they are equal representatives of the franchise. The game is the players, not the cheerleaders.

If the NFL ended the obviously sexist cheerleading squads, I would never notice.
