Looks like Moore is going to have more free time to hang out at the mall. Good times.
I'm also pleased to announce that the Republicans' strategy of selling their souls and forever ruining whatever public goodwill they might've once had - "sure he might be a pedo, but we really need this seat!" - all that sacrifice for absolutely no payoff. They could've come out of this with their dignity or their seat, now they have neither. Congratulations, you played yourself.
But I digress. Job Jones actually has a decent if boilerplate platform. It's not often that us North Carolinians envy Alabama, but having a US senator who's not a complete nutjob is definitely something I'm envious of right now.
48.8% to 49.6%...
Still a loss, imo.

Yeah, that was way closer than it should've been. Still, it's Alabama. They're usually solid R. Even a squeaker of an election victory represents a big shift in voting patterns.
First time a Demo has won in over 25 yrs. !! That is a victory. And I really expected Moore to win--I am still in a little bit of denial. Too good to be true................

They say ... rural Alabama vs urban Alabama. So I guess you should thank NASA and DoD ... without NASA there would be no urban Alabama. Demographics made it that close ...

I knew it was going on and who the contestants were, but I didn't follow polling results all that close. I thought I remember newscasters reporting Moore was ahead, but not the actual point spreads. I also expected him to win because in spite of violating Federal Laws, he was still held in high Alabama Regard, and I thought that kind of blind ideological support would counter any child molesting he might have gotten into. I knew Alabama had Democrats of course, but I assumed they were just there for show.

Joe Biden is well known to be creepy around young girls too, and not decades ago. The polling was up/down but Jones was up just before the actual vote. Score a win (or 50/50 guessing) for the pollsters. They didn't get it right, one day before the Presidential election.
Also ... all elections are to be 49% vs 51% ... because it makes it easier to buy votes at the last minute, and the people demand drama.

Alabama law requires it to be within half a percentage point for a recount, so nope.
Some guy on NPR yesterday said Alabama's politics have historically revolved around race, still do, and always will. I think it was partially in jest, because everyone in the discussion was laughing at it.

I wonder if things would have been different for Bill Clinton or Donald Trump if their elections happened after #metoo. Given that Trump was recorded saying “You have to treat [women] like shit†and "You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful â€" I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything... Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything" I wonder if it would make a difference. It's weird to me that so many Christians believe Trump represents their values. I hope #metoo reflects a cultural shift in acceptable behavior and not a passing fad.

This is actually true, if you ignore the democratic politicians who resigned (or were asked to resign by the party and the voters), the more liberal minded t.v. hosts and comedians who were fired for their sexual misdeeds, etc. .

I saw a video recently .. with him at a public shin-dig ... and how people commented on how he physically gestured to the little girl next to him, and what he said to her. Creepy (in today's social climate). Of course you feel perfectly qualified to vouch for the appropriateness of any behavior he might make, because you know him personally. This is why you know for sure what Judge Moore may have done decades ago (but I agree, Judge Moore is creepy in other ways right now).

Yes, but mostly in an SJW kind of way. In lieu of a Monica Lewinsky level scandal, these U-tube compilations of Biden have become popular among some. I wouldn't call them incriminating, but certainly politically damaging.

Yes, there is that, although I meant SJW more as someone who can find a grievance when and where he wants one whenever he needs one, and Baruch is not above using SJW tactics. Being "creepy," while not a crime rising to the level of sexual assault, is still useful enough to smear an entire group that you hold in special contempt, especially when you want to redirect the debate away from a threatened comrade.

If you are going to ridiculous extremes, remember that Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them". Sounds kind of like Michael Jackson, and some others... Why did he say that, huh, might he NOT have had some naughty thoughts in mind?
