According to Quran 33:21 all Muslims are commanded to emulate the prophet.

The language is key. Quranic Arabic is a special dialect all its own. Religion = "din" aka "justice". Islam was an apocalyptic cult, of puritanical legality as defined thousands of miles and over a 1000 years away from there I am here and now. The context is:
1. The world is coming to an end.
2. If you don't establish justice here and now, not only will you not prosper here and now ..
3. You will burn in Hell forever.
4. Justice is defined puritanically in terms of both individual and social morality, in black/white terms.
We have seen this social and individual psychology, both before Islam was established, and even today ...

Correct ... it is a reimagining, not a copy, of the Biblical psalms. There is recent European scholarship to that effect. The psalms in the Aramaic Christian form were the direct inspiration.
