Title: Democrats dread Hillary's book tour
Post by: SGOS on September 07, 2017, 08:23:43 AM
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/07/hillary-clinton-book-tour-democrats-242419

I guess I would be mildly interested on her thoughts about losing the election, not enough to buy her book, but enough to listen to a few reports and reviews.  What I would be more interested in would be a book by Bernie Sanders who in all honesty, I don't know that much about.  I don't think there is much to be gained by getting to know more about Hillary.  Her name will be recognizable for years to come, but politically she would be a distraction from here on.  She would be the distraction the steals a bit of limelight from the shoe-in.

I have to wonder about the title of the thread, which happens to be the title of the article it's based on.  I was surprised by the title, and surprised at some of the responses from Democrats, which seemed at best to be less than polite.

I like Hillary; I like Bernie.  Nearly any democrat is better than any republican, and I'm not even a real democrat.  Just go for anyone slightly left of center for lack of alternatives.

Like Bernie, hate Hillary.  The Clinton Gang has screwed the Democrat Party for 30 years now.  The real Democrats need to quote Oliver Cromwell ..

Quote
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place,
which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.

Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.

Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?

Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?

Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.

Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.

I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.

Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

In the name of God, go!

I'm a Democrat, and I don't dread the book tour.  Would the MSM be running comparable articles had Asshole not gotten in by a quirk of the Electoral College and had written a book (or more accurately, had had one ghost-written) about his loss?  I think not.

The first time I heard the title of the book (I know I'm aging myself) it reminded me of the I love Lucy series in which on many occasions Ricky would come and find the house in total disarray or Lucy covered in flour and with a heavy Spanish accent say, 'What Happened?'.

We all know what happened. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Both candidates are terribly flawed human beings with all sorts of negatives. However one of the candidates had a message, the other seemed to think things are going good and that's what happened!

I believe if Rubio had been nominated he would have trounced Hillary, Trump was handed on a silver platter and she just coasted.

Assuming the R's controlled the house and the senate Hillary would be incapable of doing much of anything and she would be under continued and perpetual investigations. I would be worse than gridlock.

You're assuming I think Trump is doing a horrible job. Politically he's terrible. He hasn't learned the mumble jumble politicians use to talk out of both sides of their mouth and talk much while saying nothing.

On Russia- Though he's supposedly in cahoots with the Russians relationships have grown cold. Is that good?
-N. Korea -He is applying leadership to a situation last two administrations fumbled on.
Hurricanes. - Everyone in government appears to be handling these situations better. He and the First Lady did well.
Obama Care- Total disaster
Major Bills-None
In spite of all the frothing at the mouth by the left leaning news I don't think Trump is a racist or a white supremacist. He's not politically or PC astute.

There you go using that word again--think--something you clearly just don't know how to do.  No wonder you think Drump is doing a good job.  How you can admire a man who grabs women by the pussy (and brags about it) and doesn't pay the little guys who work for him, is beyond me.

I noted his failures and shortcomings and personality flaws. He wasn't my choice for the nomination I hoped Rubio or Kasich had won. Do you want me to go through the litany of Hillary's lies, deceptions, greed and avarice for comparison? As for pussy grabbing we need go no further than Hillary's husband who used the presidency for that purpose. I can separate Bill's character flaws from his performance as president because he was a good president over all.

They have to do with the pot calling the kettle black. In Trumps case we only have his braggadocio in Clinton's case we have a dress and several others who've come forward.

Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon are on a ship that hits an iceberg. The captain calls out to abandon ship. Carter yells woman and children first! Nixon yells screw the woman and children! Clinton yells do we have time?

Actually women did come forward accusing Trump.  No three year old dresses with stale cum though, because none of them would give him a free blow job.  I think it was his crotch grabbing strategy for getting women.  Monika Lewinsky actually saved Clinton's cum.  I find that impressive.  Have you ever had a woman so starry eyed that she kept your cum on her dress and only took it out twice a year to show her friends:  "Look here.  This cum is from some guy on the internet.  I saved his cum."  I doubt that Trump gets much sex, and if he ever slobbered cum on a woman's dress, she would go, "Ick, this is really disgusting.  That creepy old man got cum on my dress.  I'm throwing it in a dumpster."

Corruption is a weapon, and CIA uses any and all weapons.  This is why ... while the State is retarded, it is foolish to go full retard ... but they do.  Just ask the Pretorian Guard.

Bill Clinton saw Mel Brooks in "History of the World Part 1" as King Louis of France ... saying ... "It is good to be the king!".  The script had Mel chasing every young French woman in the Versailles garden.  This is a pathology of course, most men would never do that, even if they got the opportunity.  I would be happy to look .. I can enjoy people watching ... but I don't touch.  Of course prudes and feminists are offended if I bother to look at the ugliness.

How anybody who disliked what Clinton did could then 'morally' vote for Trump is beyond me.  Well, not really 'beyond' me--theists very often say they are moral and then don't stick to what they deem moral--they accept and condone all manner of immoral acts.  Typical Trump supporter is like that.

According to Trump (assuming he's not falsely bragging) the woman didn't object to his passes because he's rich and famous. Do you really think Bill's tryst with Monica would have occurred if he wasn't president of the USA? She was a young naive intern clearly influenced by power and the oval office.

Believe it or not my mom (since passed) told me that joke.

The point is it seems hypocritical for Hillary to be getting on her high horse. People in glass houses shouldn't' throw bricks. This is also a woman who accepted money from Muslim countries who treat woman as third class citizens and throw homosexuals off roofs and claimed she was under sniper fire. Who tells lies about something that can be so easily verified?

That's because he stamped it with the presidential seal. It wasn't until he became aware of the dress he made his mea culpa. Otherwise his plan was to lie lie lie a habit Hillary picked up.

I am not a chef, yet I do have insight into food.  You like to make these kinds of pronouncements as tho you are the expert on all things.  I'm beginning to wonder if you even have a firm idea of what it is you think.  Your actual thoughts are fairly hard to pin down--do you even care what it is you think?  Seems more and more as though you are a closet Trump supporter.  (For Trump and his supporters, lies and thoughts don't matter, for they change by the minute.)

Are atheists ever immoral?  Jesus Christ, Baruch--talk about loaded questions.  And this question you know the answer before you ask it.  I guess you really do like to seem to be intellectual--more like pseudo-intellectual.  At times you are so full of shit it literally drips from your fingers!  What the hell do you mean by 'moral' and I'll tell you--but then you already knew the answer.

Black Kettles Matter--golly gee, you are just so fucking, awesomely clever, aren't you????  I am in awwwwww..................................

Can't take the heat?  Stay off the psychologist's couch then.  You are full of prejudice (it is a human trait).  But it isn't a pretty trait.  Atheists talk about rationality, but are irrational.  Atheists talk about not judging people for their oddities, but are raving bigots.  Not you personally .. just those straw men who should not play with matches ;-)

Can't take the heat?  What heat??  And what psychologist's couch am I on?  You want to keep putting me on one by making these strange assertions about me.  Of course I'm prejudice--and deeply so, in some cases.  I am prejudice about Trump--but those prejudices do seem to be justified.  Yes, atheists talk about rationality and some are irrational.  Being 'atheist' does not bestow any particular trait and level of intelligence or intellect or anything else--except the lack of belief in god(s).  You keep wanting to provide simple little labels for various and sundry things, and it isn't that simple.  Theists, like you, talk about irrational things and believe them to be real.  All of you do that.  A theist may touch upon a rational thought--but they reject it when they talk of their god(s)--like you do.  You experienced an anomaly in your brain and you go all gushing about your personal g_d.  So, don't tell me about rational/irrational thought.  You seem to be sorely lacking in it. (Rational thought)  Yes, you are glib.  Yes you are intelligent.  Yes, you are bright.  But you have this one huge blind spot and it taints all the rest of you thoughts.  In the end, you are simply giving real life to a fiction.  Yes, a lie.  But go ahead.  Talk about calling the kettle black.  And yes, Black Kettles Matter--as much as your phony god does.

Weak tea.  Glad you admit your non PC POV.  Go get some counseling from the HS advisors, find a safe place to cool off, or you will be stuck in study hall after class, a long time ;-)  Now I see where the Millennials came from.  Baby-boomers ... cough.

Don't drink tea--coffee all the way.  When have I not admitted my non PC POV???  Before I retired from teaching HS, I did get counseling from HS advisers all the time.  Safe place to cool off--well, home as always.  And yeah, I'll be stuck in study hall the rest of my life.  So, you admit you need a little course in the birds-and-the-bees.  Okay, here goes--mommy and daddy fuck--then sometime later a baby/kid pops out.  That's it.  And isn't it simply amazing how parents mold their kids??

The smell of coffee makes me ill.  Hot green tea, on the other hand wakes me up before I even drink it.

I suppose you could say that.  But I really did not get into the coffee habit until my mid 20's.  As a child I was not allowed to drink coffee.  So, I never acquired the habit.  Did not drink it in college and not much even in the Army.  But after I got out of the Army and started teaching I also started the habit.  Simply like it better than tea.

I grew up in New England where you learned to ski, drink coffee, and eat fish.  Never adopted any of those habits.  LOL!  Dad was always vaguely embarrassed.  But I am a true Mid Atlantic boy...
