Welcome to the forum.

It is a long time since we had a Muslim poster.
Unfortunately, they do not stay for long.

And thank you and everyone else for the welcome.

So what do you think of Suhrawardi, Ibn Arabi or Mulla Sadra?

I love the name.  "A Shia Muslim".  No actual name or handle other than that.  No apparent person behind the handle.  Just a religion...  No nothing other than a belief...

So sad...

I love these strange theists (of any kind or variety).  They show me that atheism makes more sense every day.

To a Muslim, his religion is his identity. Without it he is nothing.

I often use different names on forums, but i chose to use this one because i wanted users i interact with to understand to some degree where i come from. Labels are rather important,  and being a shia muslim on an atheist forum, it is even mores important for me to specify what i believe. On islamic forums, i go by many other names.

But you are right, my religion is my world view, and forms an intrinsic part of my identity. This is not to say i do not have goals, dreams, wishes, and other values like you do -only Islam gives me an objective purpose.

What you believe....................I don't have any beliefs.  I have reasons for what I think is correct.  I have no reason to think that your god is not a fiction (all gods are fiction--just like Bugs Bunny is a fiction.), why do you think your god is not a fiction, but real?

@blackkleaf . How are you ? good ? everything okay? Grey cells okay. , firing normal? j/k

the answer to your question has already been decided .no one objected . so  Shia/Muslim and Catholic/Christian and Barouch /shamanism.  Fiqh versus deposit of faith .

How about you ? Do you say Catholics are Christians or not Christian?

Simple yes or no please.

you've the right to retain counsel. May I recommend Barouch. think of a life time where the State takes care of you, no worry about shelter, food, health care. very calm serene emviroment to think all you want. to ponder. to ask . to question.

If by grey cells you mean grey matter, that's more on the receiving end of electrochemical communications. White matter has the myelinated axons, which release chemicals in the brain for dendrites to recieve. So it'd be more appropriate to ask if my white matter was firing.

Only one?  That's great and speaks volumes of atheistic morality. I can think of thousands of Muslim gang rapists and Hindu plunderers and Christian cheats.  But it's true and you have to give it to these godless people. Statistically, they are more morally upright.

I was going to give you a warm welcome but I have just joined myself ten minutes ago. So here's a welcome to you, a believer in the flying winged horse and to me with my tradition of a virgin birth.

Cheers,

Actually, I prefer Arabic words to speaking in tongues. Arabic words sound so deliciously foreign. My dad took me to Jakarta earlier this year when he had work. I almost ran for cover when I heard Allah u Akhbar screamed loudly over a hailer. I thought it was a terrorist attack but it was apparently a normal thing all over Jakarta. If not for the association of the Arabic prayer with death, decapitation and suicide bombers, it can actually be quite a fun thing. Reminds me of one of those roller coasters in Disneyland where you pass by strange lands.

Yeah, google translates reasonably well.  I get blog comments from a friend in Brazil.  Portuguese comes close but they differ.  And Google doesn't offer Brazilian Portuguese.  I have to make guesses sometimes.  I am beginning to learn the subtle differences of some personal pronouns and some descriptives though.

We atheists use the vernacular...  Damn, Darn, Zounds, For Pete's Sake, Golly, Gosh, Gad, Gee, Gee-Whiz, Lordy, Holy, etc.  Somehow, banging our thumb with a hammer and shouting "Madelyn O Hair" just doesn't get the point across the theists.

In spite of that, I tend to prefer scatilogical terms myself.
