Title: Difference between religion and pathological lying?

The religious do not know that they are lying. The pathological liars are fully aware of their own lies.

There is mis-stating facts, because you happen to be wrong, and mis-stating facts, because you have an agenda.  Almost everyone does both.  One is error, the other ... rhetoric.  Of course when editorializing ... one isn't stating facts, one is stating a perception, an opinion, propaganda etc.  That isn't lying, because facts aren't involved.  But all the assholes think that their editorial is fact ... because their have the bigger penis.

So most people are involved with religion one way or another, and I think everyone is involved with ideology.  In Religion then, we can conclude that there is a mis-statiing of facts because the speaker is wrong, and because they are rhetorical.  Of course most of what happens in religion is editorial.  It isn't lying to state your perception, opinion or propaganda.  You might not care for it, but it isn't lying, it is communication and manipulation, something we all do, every day.

Agreed!  Some people can speak unthruths and not know they are.  Others can.
