Title: Texas Rep lampoons pro-life bills with a bill fining men $100 for masturbation
Post by: Hydra009 on March 13, 2017, 09:29:30 PM
QuoteWhen it comes to issues related to health, state Rep. Jessica Farrar says that men should have to undergo the same “unnecessary” and “invasive” procedures that she says Texas women are subjected to under recently passed state laws.

That’s why the the Houston Democrat on Friday filed House Bill 4260, which would fine men $100 for masturbating and create a required booklet for men with medical information related to the benefits and concerns of a man seeking a vasectomy, a Viagra prescription or a colonoscopy. The bill would also let doctors invoke their "personal, moralistic, or religious beliefs" in refusing to perform an elective vasectomy or prescribe Viagra, among other proposed requirements in the bill.
QuoteFarrar said her bill, titled the “Man’s Right To Know Act,” takes the argument that “we’re looking at the sanctity of life,” a term that has already been highly debated this legislative session as several Texas Republicans have proposed legislation aimed at abortions.
QuoteFarrar has criticized several anti-women’s health bills that have been filed this session, primarily a measure filed by state Rep. Byron Cook, R-Corsicana, that would require Texas hospitals to bury or cremate fetal remains and another by state Rep. Tony Tinderholt, R-Arlington, that would charge both abortion providers and women who receive an abortion with murder.

Kudos to her for pointing out the absurdity and indignity of subjecting women to emotionally manipulative and medically unnecessary procedures when it comes to their medical decisions.

And the end of the article is another article pointing out that the bill about burying fetal remains sparked a heated debate about whether or not abortion should be legal at all, so it's kinda obvious what the agenda is here.  Once again, the supposed advocates for small government enlisting the State to outlaw or at least hinder a procedure they don't agree with.

The day can't come fast enough when these moral overlords are out of the picture and women's health decisions are made between a woman and her doctor without overbearing Christian conservative interference.

alt point of view: atheists believe in abortion, Christians don't. Stands to reason that after some period of time the earth will be full of dumb believers and not so many smarter folks...

As long as what goes on in Texas stays in Texas I think I'm not gonna worry about it. Never considered Texas a part of the U.S. anyways

It is against the law to laugh at stupid people probably.  Authoritarians are a riot ... when the riot come for them with torches and pitchforks.

If they made it retroactive I'd owe more than the national debt.

WTF does a colonoscopy have to do with it? Cause I'm pretty damn sure women get those too.

Even if the fine was a $1,000,000 a load you'd have to masturbate more than 2,670 times a day for 20 years. You'd have to cum on average about every 32.4 seconds for 7,308 straight days.

At a $100 a pop you're looking at 26,000,000 times a day.

It doesn't make logical sense, just like the Republican bills.

I can tell you from experience that a colonoscopy has nothing on a prostate biopsy.
