Title: Bill Paxton Dies at 61

Apparently, complications from some kind of surgery.  I don't usually post death notices, but I always liked him.  I thought he had a knack for play devious characters.  Not the real badass types, but just guys that seemed like they were hiding some self serving motive.  He was good at it.

That's a shame :(, I know it's corny but I always liked twister, the setting and goofy physics of it.

Really hope this year isn't as brutal as last year was to celebrity deaths.

Oh yeah, speaking as a NWS spotter, the 'science' in Twister was bullshit and any chasers who acted like that team did would have been thinly spread over vast swathes of Oklahoma.  But as a rollercoaster ride of a movie it was a ball, and the dialog was hilarious.  And Paxton was fantastic in it -- my favorite scene being him nodding yes while saying no to using his new SUV to chase storms.  :)

But yes, 2017, you're on notice, you're not pulling the same shit 2016 did.

At least we know he's not on an express elevator to Hell.

Night of the Twisters was scarier.  My ex wife's first parish, was not too many miles from Wakita OK, where Twister was filmed.

I had to look up who he was and I still did not recognize him.

Never seen "Aliens"? "How do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?" "We're on an express elevator to Hell!"

He's been in a lot of movies, including a lot of TV.  You may not recognize him, but it would be unusual to say the least if you have never seen him.

I loved his movie, A Simple Plan, and I kept hearing him say, during the whole last election "Why don't you put her in charge?"

My favorite Bill Paxton movie, is also the first one he directed: Frailty. Matthew McConaughey co-stars.

Alas, I've seen far too few of his movies. I've never been disappointed in the ones I have seen, though.

I have to be a little redundant, and recommend this movie again. Paxton stars and directs.

Wikipedia:
QuoteFrailty is a 2001 American psychological thriller film, directed by and starring Bill Paxton, and co-starring Matthew McConaughey. It marks Paxton's directorial debut. The plot focuses on the strange relationship between two young boys and their fanatically religious father, who believes that he has been commanded by God to kill demons disguised as people.

Bookmark the movie, and watch it soon, as it may not be up for long.

I loved his movie, A Simple Plan,
That's an excellent movie that you don't hear people talk about much.  I started thinking it was one of those sleepers that only I was aware of.  If you want to commit a crime with your friends, make sure they are not idiots and imbeciles.  Otherwise, find some other stupid thing to do with your pointless life.

This is a great movie if you like to tear out your hair and scream at the characters.  You desperately want to stop them from doing stupid things, but it's a movie, and you can't.  I've seen a few other movies that invite the same emotional frustration in me, but none as intense as A Simple Plan.  Somewhere in the movie, I'm always wishing the movie would be over so I could end my suffering, but I keep watching hoping a flicker of human intelligence will show up, and make things right.

It's hard to find anyone who's not an idiot or an imbecile.

The bad guys might spare the biggest fool, for entertainment value, so there is that.

Ripley is the only character from 'Alien' etc I care about.  Well, Jonsie because I like cats and Newt because she SHOULD have survived  But they died.  But I understand about Newt because she would have been a drag on Ripley.
