This is a remarkable piece of work, and I cannot say enough as to how much I admire and appreciate the efforts and bravery of those who produced it.
There has always been opposition within Islam to the tyranny of the Caliphs and Sultans. And cultural opposition by non-Arab Muslims to Arab domination ... though this usually is religious in form, as Shia, Ismailis and Sufis.
These poor people. When religion is so deeply ingrained into a society, the only path for some is simply the shadows, since the crazies are out in the daylight.
Brave indeed. I have yet to hear much about that. But understand it is not easy.
