Any fans of 80's new wave/punk? Been listening to a bunch of buzzcocks, specials, Martha and the muffins, devo, stiff little fingers, Elvis Costello etc. Love the stuff.
I enjoy the electronic side of new wave, but I'm more into the distilled and fused forms made my electronic producers in the 90's and 00's which are more about the synths than the human singers and more uncommon patterns in rhythm and chords:

I also enjoyed the revival by indie artists in the 00's:

And classic Latin American new wave:

I like myself some 80's New Wave music, especially with how much junk is played on the radio these days. My father and his friends like to make that type of music, and I enjoy hearing their work.
I love The Cars. They're currently my favorite band to listen to.
At the time I was more of a Judas Priest type, but yea we listened to bands like REM, The Cars, The Cure, Blondie, Echo and the Bunnymen, Talking Heads and plenty of others. That's when MTV actually played music...
Lots of talking heads. Pere ubu anyone?
